Nobody has done this before, so nobody has told you how. Here is the whole checklist, in order, from the babes who have already done a hundred nights in them.
Before you leave the house
- Test the tap yourself. Hold your own phone to the pair. Your link should open. Do this at home, not in the room.
- Clean, dry skin. No lotion, no oil, no setting spray where the pastie goes. This is the single biggest cause of a pair letting go early.
- Warm them in your hands for ten seconds before you press. Adhesive likes body temperature.
- Press from the centre out and hold for a slow count of ten. Do not keep peeling to reposition — you get one good placement.
- Bring a spare pair. Every babe who has been caught without one only got caught once.
In the room
- Have the line ready. When someone says they have no cash, you say: "You don't need any — tap your phone here." That is it. Do not over-explain the technology.
- Guide their phone. Most people aim at the wrong spot. Say "top of your phone, right here."
- Let them keep their phone. They never hand it over, which is exactly why people are comfortable doing it.
- Expect the reaction. They have never seen this. Half of them will call a friend over. That is free marketing, so lean into it.
After
- Peel slowly, from the edge, with warm water if needed — never dry-rip.
- Store them flat, not folded, and away from heat.
- Adhesive wears out long before the chip does. The chip has no battery and no moving parts, so a pair that still sticks still pays.
The one thing everybody forgets
Change your link before the night, not during it. If you switched from Venmo to Cash App last week, reprogram first — it is free and it takes a minute. Here is how.
