Why a performance crew is the hardest test we have
A crew show is the worst-case scenario for a pastie, which is exactly why we like it. Sweat, heat, floorwork, grip aids, quick changes between numbers, bodies actually touching the pole and the floor. If a pair survives a full set with a crew, it will survive your Friday.
And the tap has to keep working after all of it. The chip has no battery and no moving parts — there is nothing in there to shake loose — so a pair that is still stuck on is still a pair that gets tipped.
What changes when the whole crew is tappable
One performer with a tap-to-tip pastie is a novelty. A whole crew wearing them changes the room's behaviour. Nobody has to break character to explain a handle, nobody loses a tip because the ATM in the lobby is out of service, and the people who came out with no cash still leave having paid the performers.
